I'm really curious on the trajectory of this manga since I personally can't predict what's going to happen. I wonder what the path forward is for the main party moving forward against seemingly insurmountable odds, and if there are any aspects of biology that make male dragons special beyond being a sperm donor. Since it seems like so far every single dragon species represents mother nature which is why it's so matriarchal

The youngest must be a male because she has an egg....

The male dragons remind me more of male hyenas. They are on the bottom of the food chain in getting scraps because they are only there for reproducing. Other than that, I don't think it matters about about if they are male because she said "water dragon" and not "male dragon."

This manga brings me a certain anguish due to the uncertainty in the safety of the two protagonists. While their relationship is well-constructed and beautiful, it also doesn't feel like something that will have a happy ending with them living in peace. It's one of my favorite works right now.

buddy, I hate telling you this but the majority of the animal kingdom is full of incest babies. finding nemo is a prime example if you know about clown fish......
I'm well aware buddy, but this isn't an animal documentary, it's a manga

Its a manga but a lot of the manga is based on actual animal habits and how the animal kingdom is. We saw this by the backstory of the cheetah and the birds with their eyes.

Yes and there are dragons and bunch of weird shit going on. I'm just saying that I don't think the story would change for the worse if it wasn't incest.

I think they can only breed with their own kind as we see with the tigers talking about having mates before. The incest chapter did tell the shota dragon that he's the only male water dragon left. remember the other chapters saying that other dragon kill and eat each other?
