Unless they move towards him being outted as a manipulative psychopath, pushing him even further into his slowly developing psychosis when the house of cards he's been building collapses under the weight of his mistakes.

In theory this could work in MC's favor since if Pink falls for the villain he doesn't have to keep up the affair but I doubt things will actually go that smoothly. Also if that does happen it's likely not what the villain is trying to go for since he seems like he's trying to provoke Red.
