I don't think fighting the monster is absurd, but winning against it will be.

So far they didn't really have a way to escape it, so when you can't run you fight until you figure something out. They are already being overwhelmed and nearly evading fatal damage, to me the difference so far is pretty clear, the creature is adapting it's attack pattern everytime it gets surprised.

I don't think they win this alone, but probably get away with someone's help or sacrifice, or even the monster running out of "energy" or disappearing since it was summoned from god knows where

I'm guessing that the summon will deplete its power and disappear.

Killing something like that would give a huge power boost, which probably isn't where the author wants to go.

I'm still confused about the power level in this manga.

The monster is huge, and it's supposed to be a divine soldier. Yet, for some reason they have the bravery to fight it instead of running away even though they are at rank 7/8.

Before this, their hardest battle was with a general/chief orc, which looks so much weaker compared to the divine soldier. So, where did MC get the confidence to fight the divine soldier with a couple rank ups?

Visually, I was expecting the divine soldier to require skills rank 50 at least.

I think the story is just making excuses. Either that or they'll handwaved it as "oh it's not the *real" thing, it's just based on the stories of the real thing" or some bullshit. Regardless of this thing being way better suited for combat than the orc general.

As @The_H_Guy said, it's not quite simple clothes. Chapter 40, pages 11 and 18/19 shows he has a Summon Armor type ability.
