I usually couldn't give a shit about tl drama like sniping but going out of one's way to name their group/self that & release such incredibly low-quality work is just like... why? literally all they're gonna accomplish is making people dislike em for looking like a petty loser trying to harrass someone in the weirdest way possible & making half of them even more fond of the person they're harrassing as a result (solely by virtue of being competent), what the hell was the goal here lol? I'd at least understand the motivation if they were begging donations like the usual loser, but this is just... what, a protest against this group for not translating a chapter every day until they catch up & run out in <10 chapters? Why not put that motivation into translating something that's been rotting for a few years, or hasn't been picked up at all, so then everyone is happy?Good. Please reduce this 'sniper lord' to ash with your mere presence, thanks
This is the thing that always gets me about snipers. There are plenty of great series that got abandoned years ago, where the original work is completed and unlicensed... Or series that went under the radar and never got picked up in the first place (plenty of these exist)... and yet snipers will gleefully start posting crap releases on a series that's being actively scanlated by an existing group. Like.. why not take your time, do a good job, and work on something no one else is?Why not put that motivation into translating something that's been rotting for a few years, or hasn't been picked up at all, so then everyone is happy?
そこらの公園? It just means "That area's park". Not sure it qualifies as a joke, though. You see variations of it come up in a lot of manga. Any time you see この, その, あの, ここ, そこ, あそこ, etc. in the name of something, it's just cause the author was lazy with naming the place.I know it's minor but I'm disappointed that the joke with the park name isn't translated or noted....
Would it look more like a joke if it used kanji?そこらの公園? It just means "That area's park". Not sure it qualifies as a joke, though. You see variations of it come up in a lot of manga. Actually, yes, and there are authors that do that, where it would still pronounced like ソコラノ公園 but the ソコラ is written with kanji that can be read that way. Their choice of kanji is an opportunity to add layers of meaning. When they just leave it as hiragana/katakana, it's not really novel since it's so common.Would it look more like a joke if it used kanji?
