Not gonna lie I was worried she wouldn't apologize and things would get worse or the story would completely drop their fight and treat it as if she was right

Somehow I don't see Yang Ruiping staying alive in the long run, only question is ff he dies before or after getting the position

Anyhoo, I agree that Yang Ruping needs to go, but they need to do it smart. If you've got a corruption problem with factions of criminals all competing with each other, the classy way to deal with them is to turn them against each other. Steal opium from the foreigners, blame it on Yu Jinping. Fake an attempted kidnapping and frame the known human trafficker. Make sure Bixing Hall stays clean.
