Damn, now I can see why Ashiya sensei became like that. It must had been horrible to see Chie marry. Unfortunately, what happened to her was basically her fault, and she was indeed a loser. Had she talked and confessed to Chie during highschool or even during college they could have ended together. Chie really liked her, so she had a shot. It is unbelievable that she didn't know that Chie had a special someone until the very end. This is completely on her.
Kirino and Ashiya sensei are similar, but Kirino won't make that mistake. She will put a collar/ring on Tooru.
