Spoiler: My thoughts on Yoanne

I think she is probably, ironically, the least worst person that could fall for him. Think about it, she obviously has very little knowledge outside of what she has essentially been brainwashed into. She's learning what love feels like for the first time, and is quite literally fumbling a lot on things because of the way she was molded, mentally. Compared to many other members and the church, I would say she has a better chance of becoming a bit better normal is already out the window than most other characters. Especially how many are scheming and care not for the innocent, not even the Church. And I do think he will reach a better ending in the end, but he's got a long way to go, as the world itself is mentally flawed.
