I so badly wanted to upload this chapter right after chapter 1. labeled right and all that. This one alone doesn't tell much of rest of the pllot so if read right after chapter 1 would be so lost

Post story notes: names
Yamada- is a stage name and hana yamada is manga name, its shown that "misaki" is real name but never said family name. her mother didn't know who yamada was when miiko spoke it so unlikely that its yamada real name, but mom might have been shocked at miiko still
Miiko-Mii-chan is their pronoun, like instead of a 'watashi' or 'boku'. so everytime "i" or "Mii" is spoken by Miiko it should be "Mii-chan" but it reads real weird if said a lot in sentence cause in jp it might of only been said once, in english with how grammar structure works it could be 2 Mii-chan's in a sentence
Momo- momo is just peach but full stage name(at emphere" is "Momoka", just over vast majority of the story people just say "Momo"
Kokoro - Kororo is just 'heart' but also called "Koro"
Hamkatsu - a portmanteau of "hamster" and "katsu" with 'katsu' being cutlet. techinally the romanji of the name is "Hamukatsu" but i like "hamkatsu" better cause Hamtaro. Also Hamkatsu's gender never specified so went with male cause female leads.
Mikan - that's Miiko's mom. her pronoun, like her daughter, was always "mom" technically "okasan". what she used pre childbirth is unknown
Miiko's grandmother, Yamada's mom, and Ephemere's manager. despite all having quite a bit of screentime, non where given official names.

Post story thoughts: What i thought of it.
I tried. i Really tried and i HOPE i succeeded, prolly not, in my bring own personal bias's into translating this.

Pros(what i liked): EVERYONE SUCKED. like no one was a truly good person, minus Middle school teacher she was GOAT'd, like everyone flaws? where REAL flaws. Sounds like complaining but it's not. I enjoyed it. Favourite character was hands down Momo was a professional, had own life story and issues, but not once off the floor did she act helpful to someone then abandon them when it was hard, like kororo and yamada, she was mean but a constant mean. Miiko was fantastic. Its not often a sex worker is depicted satisfied with their work on some level without paints sex work as glamourous. NO SEX WORK SUCKS and manga made it look TERRIBLE. Miiko's life has been terrible and surrounded by terrible people, but still finds light. Its both uplifting and tragic at same time. making it an.... i don't know what right word is. i liked reading it.

Cons: honestly boils down to 2 people, in different ways. Yamada and Yamada's mom. Easy one fist. Yamada's mom. I hated every page i had to translate her.... Not in like "so evil and terrible" much worse people in the manga. But cause the conflict and story where just SO BASIC. Felt like a character in a high school slice of life story, its a basic helicopter parent. I get that in japan especially its a common thing but it was just boring. Like random example cause know its based off a real parent. In One Piece the mc's Grandfather is based of Oda's real father. and said grandfather in story is still a helicopter (grand)parent but is more then just that in character and world. But worse part about Yamada's mom.... kinda was right. Yamada did nada til someone literally died. Now not as boring as the mom but still not pleasant to read yamada. I understand Yamada not good at human interactions, that's clear and perfectly reasonable. But Yamada's lack of action in the story, the fact that until she died yamada treated Miiko at best a pet and worse an object of curiosity. Yamada's treatment of Miiko wasn't outright malicious, minus the whole knowing them to the floor part, but where not great either. Like stopped Miiko from being a sex worker, on outside that good, many downsides to that profession, but in Miiko's eyes 'took away a high paying job that was praised in and as such liked', without explaining why its a bad profession. Then shocked she started up again. Or that yamada kept saying "ill be a manga artist" but did nada til making a TERRIBLE manga then writing about Miiko. Like being manga artist is tough, hard to get into and easy to fail, but yamada doesnt even drawn anything til Miiko leaves. Basically the whole "i wanna do this" but doing none of the steps to obtain said wish

Overall: despite who it looks i didn't hate this manga or anything. Was alight. Miiko stuff great. Yamada stuff wasn't great but wasn't terrible either. Over all message "Nothing last forever, you will make mistakes and it will be hard but don't neglect what you have while you reach towards the future"

Tbf, I say the farmer and the baker uncle were pretty good people.

Farmer, because despite the rumours about her in her town, he still understood that she was disabled, and understood her difficulties in finding a job due to people not understanding her disabilities, and hired her, he even has plans set on how to placate her, implying that he has dealt with various people of varying disabilities before on his farm. I understand why he was cold to her whereabouts at ch 36, she only came in for a few days, and he barely knew her since he only first met her when she came for the job interview, so of course he doesn’t have strong attachment to mii-chan, only if she met him much sooner……

Baker, because he’s a nice old man, who at least tried to explain nicely why she should leave, and unlike most of the men in the manga who jump at the opportunity of sex, he is a professional through and through and rejected her.

I do think that Yamada was definitely socially stunted by her mom, seeing that the only thing she remember was constant studying, with many memories of constant orders and scoldings from her mother. Adding on to the fact that she had nothing to connect with her fellow peers with since she’s constantly studying. If she had more freedom and allowed to have a childhood, she would have been able to connect with her peers better on their childhoods, and would have been happier and have better social skills.

And like she said, her mum forced her to do many things she never liked, and disapproved of many things she wants to do like drawing, not giving her the space to grow emotionally as a person. Which left her a wreck of a person unable to socialise with her peers properly, along with a mindset to quit when things get difficult. So I think the mom is partly to blame for her behaviour.

But, to be fair, she could have at least tried to join clubs or study groups at her university, seeing that her mum couldn’t control her that much, and grow her social circle, and learn to have fun with people who are mentally stable and sane, but I guess she was not able to overcome her trauma.

I think it was pretty genius of the author to pretty much hide yamada's flaws for most of the manga since she was in some way the narrator and unable to see her own flaws. And I've know people with controlling parents that ended up just like Yamada. Parents never let kids follow their dreams and they start rebelling by halfheartedly doing other things, thinking that even if they're successful in anything it doesnt mean nothing to their parents so they either follow the parent's guidance or grow up stunted.
