Colette still believes MC wouldn't do something that evil, but the reality is he actually did it. Even though he didn't get his hands dirty directly, he was forced to do it for the sake of the game's plot
Colette met him in chapter 3 when he helped her and her mother fake their deaths and escape his family's territory.I forgot when it happened, how does she know Harold again?
and in the original story, Harold kills her mother, right? if i remember right....Colette met him in chapter 3 when he helped her and her mother fake their deaths and escape his family's territory.
He met El in chapter 57
I forgot when it happened, how does she know Harold again?
yes, but because she is saved in this timeline. she has a weak mentality. that of leaving things to others.and in the original story, Harold kills her mother, right? if i remember right....
I hope not. He needs to find a better way than to try to sacrifice himself even more. It's already annoying he's trying to save this foreign world, that has given him nothing, at the expense of his own happiness and life. I also don't believe forcing Colette to hate him will do much good to anybody. I'm not saying he couldn't fight with Liner+Colette, to show them they aren't strong enough yet. But it would be better to keep it "academic", not make himself their arch-enemy. But beyond that, it would be better to steer their attention to the corruption in the world, and that way slowly to Justus himself. He can't make Justus their enemy immediately, Justus would just kill them, but it needs to happen eventually. But yeah, in the next few chapters Harolds probably going to see firsthand that his mercy fucked him really badly in this case and is likely going to try and correct it as best he can, probably by finding a way to make himself hated by the protags to get them more motivated and to better steer the plot. Unlike with Erica he doesn't have the strong attachments that makes him not want to be hated by them despite needing to be for the plot.
She was the first "Main Character" that Harold altered the story for; she was supposed to barely escape with her life, after Harold torches her and her mother with powerful fire magic, and her growing up with the Hero of the story, is the inciting incident of the story.I forgot when it happened, how does she know Harold again?
This world belongs to Hirasawa Kazuki's favorite game, which he replayed to the point he knows everything about it, lore and gameplay. It gave him plenty of happiness in our world, but like all gamers, he wants life to be happier for these beloved characters who brought him so much joy. He is looking at this as a short-term upfront cost to preserve his long-term existence. His happiness in the short term matters less than avoiding his premature death. It's already annoying he's trying to save this foreign world, that has given him nothing, at the expense of his own happiness and life.
The reason Kazuki is playing along, as he has said repeatedly, is because he wants to know events are going in a predictable way so he can subtly influence them for the better, especially since Justus is too powerful to challenge directly at the moment. The Battle of the Beltis Forest was completely out of scope for the scenario, and he improvised a plan for it... one which almost killed Yuno, half the Sumeragi ninja corps, the entirety of the Cody unit, the Stellar Starchant Tribe, and Harold/Kazuki himself. That's the kind of butterfly effect he wants to avoid as much as possible until the last moment. What's the point of this whole story if Harold tries to play his own role exactly as in the game? He would just die before the world is even saved.
