Wooowowowowow.... calm down sensei, your last piece of advice is moving things way too fast. It looks like we're getting a confession from MC to Kuromiya for the chapter 100 milestone. and I can already smell the series ending right after the confession arc happens :angery:

Age 34, married to her childhood friend for 16 years.

She got married at age 18!? The moment she graduated high school!? And she need a special license to be a school nurse. She was already married at the phase of her life where most people are only then beginning to think about it.

16 years of marriage to her childhood friend?
Her eldest could perfectly be 14.
The spirit of Shinzo approves.

"Just sex her!" Is the reply of someone who has never, ever doubted whom she we was going to marry.

I mean there's two ways this can go:
  1. He says: "I love you I can't stop thinking about you." Or some variation thereof. At which point, she'll jump him, rip off his clothes and attempt to ride him like a bicycle.
  2. He starts circling around the issue. Never gets around to saying how much he loves her, and finishes conveying the idea that he'd rather stay friends.

How will Rei respond, though? "Yes I like you too but we can't date because I'm an idol."? Then either manga ends with time skip to her retiring and them getting married, OR it continues and the primary challenge becomes them trying not to date but being flirty anyway and nearly getting caught.

Onee Nurse is a little lewd.

Also, Nurse Rei <3

She has been happily married for 16 years and somehow is so bad at romance? That's genuinely interesting
I think the implication is she married her childhood friend immediately post highschool
(CHILDHOOD FRIEND ENJOYERS RISE UP) so she never had to be good at romance. She never had to deal or wonder if they like me, she was just with her childhood friend-now-husband and they just ended up together without any traditional romance.
No build up or nervousness just
"I'm moving to Tokyo after graduating. Want to get married?"
"Okay."
So she has no idea how to give romantic advice because she was really only in a relationship with one man in her entire life, and it just sort of evolved to marriage without anyone (or least without HER) having to do anything but let it happen.

Alternatively...
Her youth is shown mosaiced.
If we read into her last tip about "just sleep with her once, everything will work out" makes me suspect that Haruka was a bit frisky in highschool and its probably a good idea she has medical training to keep her husband from expiring after she's done wringing him dry.
It sounds like she and her childhood friend banged and that made them realize they weren't just friends any longer.

We're getting the stealth epilogue of Chikasugiru Futari dropped on us.

You know damn well each and every single one of us is still going to be here even 200 chapters later still waiting on that confession and still complaining.
Honestly I don't care all the much. By Romcom standards they haven't been taking that long. There is gradual but consistent progress, no weird backtracking, Mao-chan chapters are great, and we all know this manga is timeskip to the end once he confesses so I'm down for another 100 chapters of what we've got.
Though that's a catch 22, since as close to the confession as we are they can't give us 100 chapters and still have the gradual but constant progression and character growth we've had so far.

I can actually see that happening. It's hard to get into the dating game or understand romance when you've been with a partner that long your idea of love connection etc is very different to a new relationship.
