I was like "oh yeah it's the silly MMO series where the MC punched the char creation NPC" but this chapter felt like it was completely unrelated since I couldn't really remember the characters anymore.

Translation is rough this chapter and makes it hard to tell what is going on.

From what can tell...

• Rindou Amane / Rinne used to be not only a much more normally adjusted girl, but one that excelled in many things including social situations
• Mayumi / Perseus was originally jealous of her and to show her up went skiing in an area that she wasn't supposed to
• Rindou Amane saves her and they become friends, but she is horribly injured. When she wakes up she has amnesia, hallucinations, and freaks out in the presence of almost everyone except Mayumi
• Everyone seems to abandon Amane due to her amnesia and her freaking out when in the presence of people
• Mayumi out of guilt covers everything and pays a settlement to her parents while deciding to take care of Amane going forward
• Amane becomes even more attached Mayumi who feels even more guilt, Amane's personality and interests seem to have heavily changed (possibily due to her inability to be around most people now)

This also puts Mayumi's fear and concern over Babylon taking Amane's arm in a darker light as she's probably worried about the possibility of the game hurting her further.
