    Depends on the sandwich. PB&J or bologna - probably no need. Grilled cheese - required (also, must be into triangles). Anything on a kaiser roll or burger bun - nope. Club or other multi-layer sandwich - gotta do it.

    This got me thinking how many people turn to piracy because of things like distribution problems like it not being sold in a certain language or region, or not wanting to support certain publishing companies because of how they operate, or just it not being worth the cost for them , vs just not wanting to pay for manga

    To simplify, it makes paying someone a due amount faster and simpler, so the state is using this kind of coin system. It's an algorithmic reason : it allow the use of a greedy algorithm for the change making problem, while using the minimum amount of steps. But it's an optimal solution only for this kind of coin system specifically. There is a wikipedia page about the change making problem and the algorithms solving it for an arbitrary coin system, if you want to know.
