...um. :pepehmm:

Are you asking about Marx and Engels' Das Kapital from the 19th century, which is the foundational work of Communist philosophy? Or are you specifically looking for Lenin's writings from the time of the Russian Revolution, like Imperialism?

Maybe here : Manifesto of the Communist Party, on marxists.org ?

And for why it don't work, it's because it's a subtle blend of economics ideas and philosophy, and it's certain that the economics part is wrong. Ideas that are good on papers never work in practice, details are very important.

Yeah, the Manifesto itself is kind of crap - it's like a Declaration of Independence, except for a revolution that promptly got curb-stomped. You really want to read something with more meat on the bones, like Das Kapital.

In addition to the economic failure, I'd suggest that communism relies on altruism, and thus breaks down beyond the scale of a village or small town, when one can start treating some portion of the population in the abstract rather than as discrete, known individuals (hence why some utopian communities were able to work in the 19th century).

That's good reason, the idea is good but people too greedy to be united. People always want more. The problem also lies on the leader who too paranoid and fear everyone. They were too incompetent to see what important. When the leader were no better than anyone it's doomed from beginning
