    I get that they're one of the main usecases of a forum, but I much prefer a kind of forum community where people actively post new threads about whatever is going on in life, however trivial it is. I think it makes for a lot more fun, but that might just be because of my rotten gen Z brain.

    But see, I think there'd be more incentive to post, because when there's only a few active threads about common subjects that seem to be reused in every forum out there, that's when I start thinking the forum seems boring and I don't get any incentive to post, especially if I've already been posting in that thread biweekly for a month.

    Whereas if I come on and see 3 threads have been made in the last hour, let's say, one about the life events of the op, one about their opinion on a specific subject, and one on whatever news is going on at the time, then I've just found myself 3 more unique subjects to reply to and discuss.

    But still, you two are right. I just need to change up the way I browse this website. I used to be active on a forum that used the exact same forum software and had a group of active users who kept the forum alive with a lot of dynamic threads, and I was sort of expecting a replacement when I found this. It's my bad.

    truth be told, i'm a huge kagikko but i have never finished any key visual novels besides LB and Rewrite

    That was pretty much the same for me too for the longest time. Now I'm trying to get through Key other visual novels, I'm currently on the last route with Ayu but I think I will play Clannad completely blind next.

    @BakedBanana visual novels are just too long, especially with my playstyle where I will never leave a voiced line unturned. my god reading speed though lol, if there are no voiced lines, I can pretty much take a glance at a sentence and move on. bakemonogatari trained me well. my last visual novel (not even fully done, only 1 route) was hoshi ori during 2020 because everyone had infinite time in 2020. probably 30% of my play time was spent listening to moaning.

    I might become active on here. I don't really know what the community is like, but the people I've interacted with so far have been great; I love the forum software, and with manga discussions constantly bringing new fresh content, it also seems like the forum will stay alive.
