I don't have it with the "Enhancer for Youtube" firefox extension on PC, if it helps. Web browser extensions for youtube are a life saver.

this slightly extra work might not be worth it for you, but if im on youtube in browser and want to watch a short but don't want the weird display format, i go into the URL bar and replace "shorts/" with "watch?v=". like this below:
youtube .com /shorts/Hsi4vm6HzEE
youtube .com /watch?v=Hsi4vm6HzEE

this will turn it from a short into a more normal video where you can easily see the comments and description and whatever again. reminder that this only works in browser and not the app because you need to be able to change the URL.

another annoying youtube problem i have is when i press a youtube link in mobile browser, it redirects me to the video in the app. i have have to long press it and then press "Open in new tab" when the pop up menu shows up to avoid that and be able to still watch the video in mobile browser.

wait can you screenshot what that looks like, just so im prepared to not have that happen.... or just completely move to niconico [partially because it works at school, partially because its funny how the text flies across the screen]
