Why would you want to learn portuguese? And its not like we can just... teach you? Like, isnt the best way to learn a language slaving off at ankidroid for 2 months then watching 7 thousand youtube videos by natives?
Some people wants to learn another language for no spesific reason, maybe just bcs of their curiosity level are too high about languages and cultures? Hehe.. Graduated from communication science perhaps the reason why the fox too curious about languages. So if you want the reason, no I couldn't say it specifically.
Honestly, I don't feel like learning languages is tied with learning culture? For example, I got good at spanish, yet I dont know much about their culture, their day-to-day rituals and whatnot. All that happened is me feeling more united with latin america as a whole. I guess it's because internet culture isn't the same as real life culture? I certainly know memes and can insult almost all their our countries, but when it comes to food, whether you're supposed to walk barefoot in your house, how you're supposed to take care of children, all these things so ingrained in culture, idk
