Honestly, I prefer limericks too
They are way more easy to do!
English syllables don't make sense
But that's just my two pence
My favorite one is hereby due:

There once was a man from Japan
Whose limericks never would scan
When someone asked why

"It's because I always try to fit as many words into the last line as I possibly can"
