However, the commenter also faults the teacher. They argue the teacher should explain that developing skills and work ethic through effort offers long-term benefits (like succeeding in higher grades), even if not immediately reflected in the current SBG grade. The commenter suggests the teacher is part of the problem if they didn't clearly communicate the grading criteria from the start and failed to offer encouragement or perspective beyond the grade itself. Not doing so is compared to a manager demanding extra work without being able to reward it.

I would also like to say, the admin's remark is unacceptable.
You're here to teach the kids, not to let them iddle aroud and learn nothing because you can't be smart enough to decide on a thoughtful grading scale. That's your bad, not "life isn't fair". Well in that case life isn't fair to them if you refuse to teach them, but it's not like you're not a major part of the problem. If you don't get to choose your own grading standarts, then fight for your kids' future and don't stop at "life is unfair". That's just being irresponsible.

We can deduce that teaching kids actually that no one other than Them-selves care for Them-selves is a Valuable lesson that blocks the need for Self-centering , no matter how harsh It is on the child or even traumatic , whenceforth ; in a reality that is Inherently meaningless & not suitable for Emotional & Social Life-forms , It is only logical to expect Them to grow accustomed to It.
