The spin-offs are also very good. I prefer the railgun spinoff over the index manga, the astral buddy was also very good, the item and misaki spinoffs should be good (i started them, but put them on holmd to read everything at once).

I really want for kamijo to interact more with the esper side. I wish the railgun spin off have more interaction of those two. The synergy is immaculate

Kamijo is not very present in the spin-offs, except at the start of the railgun serie, but it's a retelling of the first arc from the POV of misaka mikoto. But railgun and other spin-off are about the esper side, and that's why i prefer them. It's more cool sci-fi than weird religious stuff.

Well if they adapt season 4 of Index correctly then your wish will come true. Unfortunately it's a known fact that the people in charge of that stuff pick favorites with adapting Railgun compared to Index. :/

Fingers crossed that after they do Railgun season 4 and Item season 1 that they'll come back to Index and give it a proper adaption. Because Index New Testament is when the story gets REALLY good.

wait ITEM have their own spin off?! that suprising ngl, three spin off from the science side. I thought they just gonna be a one off villain, cuz doesnt seems to effect the story as a whole or important enough. The key is about AIM or something right? cuz one of the girl ability
why not give us one spin off into the magic side huh.... like styl and kanzaki before event touma, or how index get in japan, or tsucimikado backstory....
