Not the president, but the army as far as I know. Only captured on paper after hard pressure from the public. And even then, it could be for show. Our jails captured corrupt politicians and lawmakers and they're known to live a pretty easy lives there.

Luckily, the unrest in my country has calmed down for now. though the government decisions since August 31 up to now have been total bullshit to me and my people. Most of us still disagree but are holding back, cause if chaos gets worse across all cities, the government might impose martial law military like in Myanmar and that’d be total mess.

As for the food delivery driver case, justice’s still madly one-sided (you know how corrupt-cop countries roll). One life lost, but penalty was just seven years behind bars and forced demotion laughably unfair, right? Oh yea, death toll from previous riots was 7 people. dozens of people were imprisoned and are still being processed for release.

Indonesia was actually gearing up for massive protests like in 98 cities across 38 provinces but folks held back to avoid declaring civil or military emergency. citizens don't have guns, unlike the cops and military
