I prefer lamias personally,I dont like the idea of a mermaid flopping around like a fish the moment they're out of water, and I like how long lamias are

All in to lamia, fish are slimy and have mobility issue on land, while Lamia can slither on land and swim.

Ask the experts about it I suppose.

Snake is nicer to feel because their scale is smooth and cooling. Fish slimy and their scale is vary depending on the size, medium to small have plate like scale and the big one have small scale that make them feel like sand paper.

Therefore lamia is better, reptile just that nice

Thought about this before for a bit, lamias are for those who want to be dominated, and mermaids are for those who want to dominate in most cases.

Anyway adding my point is most fish have external fertilization, so there is huge chance you can't even have sex with your mermaid gf
