For some reason I didn't get the ping last time... so the prom is yet to happen and you want to impress them with a Hollywood scene. Well, specially since they're not bound to Instagram they may appreciate something less superficial such as having topics of conversation (do you even know them?) or be direct enough to stop beating around the bush. It is time to use your social skills (and develop them further) to talk with their friends or directly with them. Plan your strategy, rehearse at home and perform a direct attack!

No no!! That's a different thing!! My prom is a senior of mine, since it is a custom here to ask your senior your for the prom night!! It's just a platonic event which happens every year, it's not related to my crush!!!

I thought you wanted to confess there to kill two birds with one shot and now you wanted to attend the prom with a senior just to confess to your crush there... well, let's forget about that event now. Find what do you have in common, invite them or join them to do that activity and have that chance so you two can get to know each other. Then, if you love them, confess to start dating, forget about romanticism. Since this is your first crush, you can also learn that for dating it takes at least two people, not only your own feelings.

@Basic_human there is no simple answer and they like to put a lot of names to everything but...

• Aromantic people won't feel crushes (even if they understand them) and asexual people may only have sexual drive in their fantasies (you can be both, aro + ace).
• Demisexual ones only feel attraction after getting to know someone, you could call it slowburn.
• What you think of love is merely a fantasy, so you'll never have it IRL and feel frustrated about it until you overcome it.
• You need to learn to express yourself. For that, live and experience.

Good then, it's just from all your posts it seemed you were dying to and had to be right now so you could start dating them. In that case, don't wait for magic to happen, extract the information needed from their friends (torture, bribe, extorsion, the method is entirely up to you), generate chances to be and talk with them and when the time is right you know what to do. Well, the only thing I can say is... don't shy out? And don't worry because they're a he, you're more intelligent than them and their weak point is easy to kick.
