I don't really use that word, only when describing things like mountains or charts.
Better words would be "good", "great", "Thanks for the chapter", "I had a blast reading this fine piece of literature." [queue classical music] and so on.
Guys please just answer the question 😭 I said “peak” like a normal functioning member of society. It just means great or really good. I’m not reinventing the English language, I promise.
Tsk Tsk Tsk, you make such impertinent statement and shy away from its consequences. Truly, quite impertinent. A true manga reader only shows a hint of enjoyment with "Thanks for the chapter." as a chapter comment. No more, no less, lest he make a fool of himself. To utter and write words such as "Peak" (retching noises) shan't leave our keyboards. We'd be no better than peasants.
@a_singular_strike
Tsk tsk tsk… and yet here I stand, unashamed.
You cling to your sacred “Thanks for the chapter.” dignified, restrained, painfully bland.
But when a chapter is Peak, I refuse to whisper like some manga noble guarding his composure. If it’s peak, I’m calling it peak.
Let the peasants cheer I’ll be at the front yelling it.
@mylovenovels
Unbelievable, the gall of the homines novi. Empires weren't build with "Peak", they were built with "Thanks".
To write "Peak" is to comment simply on the content consumed, forgetting about the poor hands that gave you the content. To write "Peak" is to only think about your own opinion, forgetting other voices in the crowd.
O Noblesse, were is thy Oblige? O Reader, where is thy honour?
The giants that walk these lands did not get a massive message count because of "Peak".
@a_singular_strike yes, I also agree youngster nowadays don't know how to properly talk English. Saying trendy words like "peak" only makes you less dignified, even less English. Or perhaps they're fine to be confused with people that are not capable of uttering a single sentence in English?
@a_singular_strike Unbelievable. the sermon continues.
Empires weren’t built on “Thanks” alone either they were built on passion. And sometimes passion sounds like “Peak” typed at 3AM with tears in your eyes. To write “Peak” is not to forget the hands that crafted it it is to acknowledge that those hands cooked. Spectacularly. “O Noblesse, where is thy Oblige?” Right here. In the comments. Hyping the work so hard the algorithm trembles. The giants of old didn’t gain their message count through restraint. They gained it through noise. And I, humbly, shall continue making it.
@Manko-sensei
Ah yes.. the Council of Proper English has convened.
Apparently saying “peak” has now revoked my citizenship, stripped my dignity, and erased my ability to form a sentence. Tragic. It’s almost impressive turning one word of hype into a full linguistic obituary.
I promise I can, in fact, construct sentences in English. I simply chose efficiency. When something is peak, I say “peak.” Why waste twelve Victorian paragraphs when one modern syllable does the job?
I don't think people used the word "peak" that much before 2020.
