Is there some secret society that's pointing all the yuri lovers to MangaDex? Like, I was joking before but the increasing amount is spooky.

The weird thing is that if you go to MAL, you'll see that there are far more yaoi stories than yuri stories. So it would be natural to think that more people are into yaoi than yuri.
I'm not sure why we have this huge imbalance here.

The more people who are open and vocal about being yuri lovers (who aren't being talked down on by others), the more inviting an environment it is for others to also be open about it. And I also think it's a matter of a vocal minority overshadowing the overwhelming silent majority that skews the perception. The number of regulars on the MangaDex forums isn't "that" high after all.

Don't know if it's just me but when I look for random titles here, yaoi is more common than all the others.
Could there be more yaoi in general everywhere?

On MD, there's 151 pages of GL and 181 pages of BL titles (Japanese + safe and suggestive only, I ain't gonna change my filters just for that)
However, seeing as people still make condescending jokes towards BL in mainstream MD comment sections and BL titles get rating-bombed, the lack of BL fans in the MD forums is not too surprising
