It usually takes between 8 and 9 years to get a proper titulation, is it the same in USA @Angry_Panda ?

I mean, you can just get a microphone and something to record on and make music - it's not like you need a degree or fancy software. But if you're looking at doing a soundtrack for a game, that's a bit more involved....

@Manko-sensei - depends. You can get any number of degrees or certificates, ranging from 2 years to full doctoral paths (8-10 years), but let's face it - the ones making the money playing music the general public listens to aren't generally the ones with the higher degrees.
