Can definitely recommend " I Became the Tyrant of a Defense Game " If you want a main character who's human and fails at times (with actual consequences) and fleshed out side characters with compelling back stories and personalities.

He She seemed to react to it and called it expensive right away so she probably got it before. Might be one of those stories where the road is different but the destination is the same so the key events still happen.
