@kyzer There's a Reading progress section (above the follow button) in each series' page. It tracks the chapter number you're at, and you can increment/change it if you read elsewhere. Be careful when reading ahead though, make sure you check if the counter changed when you don't want it to.

@ljb72, about keeping track of where you left off, you should use the follows instead of your history. You can follow a series on the series' page, and chapters will then be marked as read once you read them. You can also see new chapters for series you follow at https://mangadex.org/follows...

@Plykiya From this image I found (see spoiler, though I don't know how accurate it is), it seems Kodomo is more popular than Josei, which is available on MangaDex. That said mangadex.org probably has more traffic on Josei manga than Kodomo.
