I can't help but think about Hyouge Mono while reading these chapters involving that tea pot. That manga is one of my favorites, and I recommend if you'd like to revisit this period with a greater focus on tea ceremony and comedy.

I have a friend who, on a solo Japan trip, went up to Fuji San and I think stayed the night somewhere along the side of the mountain, having stayed too late and missed his ride out. It was cold and miserable!

I like this slice of life quite a lot. I cannot relate to any of these kids, but, they're all doing their best and that's somehow inspirational. While this story could be set anywhere, I especially like the hanamachi setting and that it gives young people a positive impression. I want to see...
