I love that in Yor's fiction, Yuri just calmly accepts and even adores her killing spree. ... I don't think she is wrong.

It's rare to see this kind of manga with open ending on combination with of social commentary. And Hanako thinks it's nice to be left alone instead of being forced to act as others expect her to. Which it seems it's very much hammered into Japanese school children it seems.

Manga has great art work and the black and white style is used with very strong contrasts like in sin city. But story wise? Very confusing and I am not sure the author himself knows what he wanted to say. Unfocused and with twists for twists sake in my opinion.

What a strange story. Does anybody know if the characters are based on another work? Am I missing a reference? It reads like a fairy tale with established characters and setting, like the reader should know some parts already.

Fully agreed. But I'm not sure if that particular thing isn't more on the reader than on the author side. Hell, sometimes it feels like certain people really only ship and see the story as unnecessary baggage.

It's nice to see that more mangas include simply friendship between opposite genders now. Not everything has to be about romance, there are more types of affection than only romantic! And also nice to see that they keep a balance between "world ending dragon power" and "ok how are we organizing...

Thank you for translating this great story! I wish the mangaka would have had more chapters to show some more anthropological development of traditions. That they changed the dance in the end is also a nice nod to the fact that most traditions change with time, certainly over 800 years.

Man I love those stories that combine anthropology and fantasy to show how traditions could have developed. The Professor Munakata stories are great in that regard.
