Pretty bittersweet... but I wouldn't call this romantic, the feelings between the pair seem pretty firmly platonic and the story implies they won't meet again to deepen them.

I will say, the ending where they effectively flip femme/tomboy roles is pretty peak, both of them living not as the roles they assumed to try and fit what was demanded of them, but what they're most comfortable as.

huh, not sure how people were mistaking the hero for a dude, their appearance isn't that andro when they showed up to slay the werewolf. Anybutt, aside from some slightly off composition in the action scenes, this is a pretty solid setup for a political thriller.
