The author(s) is similarly useful information as the scanlation group, especially for people who are familiar with many mangaka, or are looking for manga of a particular style.

Add a visual indicator that shows your list status (currently reading, completed, dropped, etc) for manga on the front page (like latest updates, top chapters, top manga, etc).

There are currently no decent websites that can keep track of manga and chapters read (MAL doesn't have non-original creator doujins and various electronically published stuff; MU is dead, few features, never updated, no API, no scanlator website links).
I think MD can and should become *the*...
For example, if you're ok with ecchi, harem, and school anime, but don't like high school ecchi harem romcoms, you could exclude an "ecchi," "harem," and "school" genre combination.
Have same read chapter indicator on front page (new releases and top chapters lists) as on the individual manga page's chapter list, and add click to toggle.
So you'd be able to just click
Flaming, profanity, posting link to leech sites, possibly even bot advertisements. We don't have much of it now, but it's better to be prepared.

There doesn't seem to be a limit on how big a comment can get if they add pics and stuff. Obviously people can use spoiler tags to avoid clogging up comments this way, but you can't expect everyone to be a considerate citizen ;P
A lot of smut and ecchi titles are basically "close enough;" was wondering if we could have a "safe mode" option (would be safe for actual workplaces). Or maybe an option to hide certain genres (mangaupdates has this).
