I think this is fallacious thinking. This is, at its core, not a romcom, the romance is ultimately a subplot to all the characters being goobers and comfy vibes. It's a comedy manga that happens to have a romance subplot, ergo, the romance plot doesn't need to drag on for the plot to continue...

To be fair, the revenant and spider are pretty well-adjusted and behave fairly normal. The bunny doesn't interact a ton with human society AFAIK, and the...okay the cat IS weird behaviorally. But still, most of them ACT fairly normally.
