The protagonist is kind of a dick in this chapter, lacking both sympathy and empathy for Nico. Although I guess that's something to be expected from a teenage boy discovering the gap between his idealized image of his crush and her real personality and behavior.

@Qelix I think that has to do with the archetype Gracie appears to portray. He overall aesthetics in the hunting arc - the way she's drawn and acts, gives off a strong "ladykiller" vibe.
