every single umamusume work has its own continuity. star blossom is its own thing, cingray is its own thing, rttt + bona is its own thing, the anime S1-S3 is its own thing, etc. trying to mix any of these in a single continuity or with the games' story own continuity is a fool's errand.

Without IRL knowledge it is pretty easy to underestimate the two little monsters introduced this chapter.

Description is kind of wrong, because this manga is actually both official and non-canon at the same time (every SCoOW manga is an official touhou project manga, but only the manga written by ZUN are canon).

It is incredible that everyone of the main cast here are such wrecks that the typical annoying bitchy secondary character that intrudes on these stories to introduce drama feels like a nice person in contrast.
