Having tried the translated VN and the anime because they both are ahead in the story, the manga is the only media this story is even remotely enjoyable. The translated VN is coarse as fuck and the anime is puke worthy.

My best and uneducated guess is that the Japanese population is going extinct because of the language barrier. This is the most common trope in romance manga and the Japanese government should do something about it.
