I couldn't tell you why, but watching the fish and raven side plot develop somehow gives me a sense of dread. That their journey will continue as far as they can go, and something terrible awaits them at the end of the road. Ignoring that nagging feeling though, I do love seeing them again...

At times I wish these two were of the same kind. Perhaps not the same species, but at the least able to stay together without instinct and the cruel reality of their differences creating a wall that will always be there in some form. They're so innocently affectionate and seeing them apart...

It does make the whole convo from readers in the reveal chapter not understanding why Van would attempt to hit flying wyverns accurately with a trebuchet a bit funny. Also, love that the dragon, while "easily" felled, was still a devastating threat. We love non-jobber dragons in our fantasy media.
