Aaaaah yes, predictable, like how this plot should be. Now, it's alright to a have a predictable plot, it's all about execution. This manga is a prime example of what to avoid. I feel that the author knew how to make a cliche story but never understood why people liked cliche stories.

I second this recommendation. It's a really great implementation of the trope. It's a bit of a whiplash but you really feel how time moves for the MC.
