    Manga review blogs

Looking for bloggers/manga reviewers who read and review prolifically and intelligently. Ideally, I want to see reviews of more esoteric/newly scanlated manga in the Seinen and Josei genres, but others are fine too. Who are your favorite reviewers/bloggers?

Otomege Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu

This had promise, but all suspense and interest is ruined by "the protagonist has an Ultimate Weapon and can Never Lose". I thought that eventually he'd encounter an enemy he wouldn't be able to cheese, but forty chapters in and it hasn't happened yet... Not sure if I care enough to continue.

    Ikoku Nikki - Vol. 11 Ch. 54 - page.54

Incredible ending. It feels riveting to see Makio develop from a lone wolf who takes in her hated sister's child on a whim (and tells her she won't love her) to the author of the poem at the end of the manga. For her to write that she would be happy to be the anchor of Asa's ship - happy to be...

    Boku no Giovanni

This series is amazing! It's got a classic premise a la piano no mori, but it seriously deviates from cliche into themes of friendship, fun, jealousy/inadequacy, and even love. Excited for more!

Kiyo in Kyoto: From the Maiko House

@roseofquartz agreed, Kiyo definitely wasn't sad about quitting being a Maiko. At the same time, she never even got the chance to go to high school and is going to be doing low wage/unpaid domestic labor her whole life. (I feel the same about Kenta). Maybe I'm projecting when I feel sad about...

I'm in Love with the Villainess

love the comments... @ThisMe if the LGBTQ community pisses you off and you think they're the loudest most demanding group of people out there I suggest you don't read manga about lesbians! Haha

Christmas 2020: Tripled Growth and the tale of the Temporary Ad

I just saw this, and realized that I didn't even notice the ad when it ran, despite the fact that I read a ton of manga on the site exclusively on mobile with no adblocker. I'm sad I didn't get to click the ads to support! Really, such nonintrusive ads are a small sacrifice to make for superior...

    Furin Shokudou

LOL at the chapter that makes you think he'll sleep with the schoolgirl but then he doesn't. Makes you realize how normalized adult men sleeping with underaged girls is in manga. He may be a cheater but he's not a pedo!

Kiyo in Kyoto: From the Maiko House

@doomtc I agree. From what I have gathered, she is probably "paying back" her debt from the years of training that the manor gave her. (Most geiko pay it back through their geiko work). The other thing is that since she's from a very rural town and it is implied that she isn't very good at...

    365 Days to the Wedding

I am shocked that this is a Wakaki Tamiki/kami-sama series. I loved TWGOK as a teen and I'm loving this as an adult. Completely different stories with different vibes and this one is so strong and mature. Man, Wakaki-sensei really has incredible flexibility. I continue to be impressed by him.

Kiyo in Kyoto: From the Maiko House

@MrBeaver @estELLE i did some research since my previous comment and wanted to share. It is true that geiko are not synonymous with sex workers (ie they do not have to sleep with anyone) in the modern day, though this distinction was more murky in the past. But even in the modern day, they may...

    Akatsuki no Yona

On that note, I also wouldn't be satisfied by some kind of happy peaceful conclusion (eg Soo-won dies of sickness, gives the throne to Yona, everyone is happy). Soo-won did some terrible things and I want to see Yona get her justice against him.

    Akatsuki no Yona

The new chapter is very pleasantly surprising. Soo-won was a ruthless, calculating arguably evil character, who murdered King Il and also tried to kill Yona. It was a little annoying that the more recent arcs were starting to paint him as a "hero" who would "make Kouka great again" who just did...
