I went back and reread the entire vol1 and start of vol2. Nothing happened in vol1 until she stayed over his place at the end of vol1. At the start of vol2, she asked him what she is to him, and that started everything. He was still dense for most of the series.

I love it. I've always wanted to see the happy ever afters, seeing them enjoy their futures after overcoming their hardships. This series achieves that. Unfortunately also comes with the bittersweet feeling of seeing the parents' generation aging. Hits close to home :meguuusad:
