This has always been a big tension in Kingdom. Really, among major characters it is Riboku whose sensibilities are closest to most modern readers, but we all cheer against him.

Yeah this is me too. When Kanki lost badly he did so because he was forced to do things that he wasn’t shown to be good at in the past. But Ousen is supposed to be the conservative general who always has a plan. He can lose but it makes no sense for him to lose like this given what he’s supposed...
