I just think it's a lazy way to name your kids no matter the language.
For example my grand parents have a lot of grandchildren and sometimes forget our names so they call us by a number from the oldest to the youngest.
As a French person it's so weird that the author is sticking to random French words to name her characters.
The previous queen's name was Dernière?? (feminine form of the adjective "last")
And the Mc is just naming her kids One, Two, Three and Four 😂😂
