You must not read hetero manga or engage with the comments then. They are MORE sensitive to this. Lack of progress is viewed as extremely frustrating by hetero manga readers and a series ending ambiguously or with subtext would likely cause a mass revolt. I have no idea where you got the idea...

Hate to say it since I bookmarked this ages ago but I’m getting heavy “will never be more than subtext” vibes from this series. There are those who will fight you on whether subtext counts for the GL tag, but personally I feel like with the large amount of actual yuri romance we get these days...
