They all have a characteristic emotion, since the first chapter. There is a sleepy one, a shy one, an angry one and also the crying one. One has a little bow on its head, ... If each hair snake represents one of her emotions or if they are separate entities, is not clear yet.

So now we got the explanation why bandits were together with the monsters in the harvest festival in ch19&20. This author is really great, explaining so many small details later on.

Regarding the authors explanation of dungeons on the extra page: I think he specifically means the Carceri d'Invenzione. The gothic art style from e.g. Dark Souls can be traced back to this work.

I think the father tries to transfer the whole bakeneko thing, curse, power and immortality to somebody else. Then they are just a cat again and can live and die normally.
