@Owyn I think meteor shower magic is basically a summon magic where you summon a bunch of rocks in the sky, set drop point, and let gravity handle the rest. So the magic is completed when the rocks is created. (This is just me rationalising the story. Perhaps author simply forgot his own rules 😅)
