You should try An Observation Log of My Fiance Who Calls Herself a Villainess. Great story from the perspective of the prince who's engaged to an isekai'd individual.

Could be that he's a narcissist and didn't want his fiancé to outshine him. That's pretty common among princes like him in these stories

Frieren had obvious story arcs though. This story is more meandering and steady in comparison, so I'm not sure how or where they'd choose to end a season.
