I was actually wondering earlier why the male MC was encountering so many people with abilities. There's literally an in-universe explanation for them gathering in one place.

I found it funny that his immediate instinct upon seeing a roach was "FOOD." Even if he's very familiar with the setting of the game, eating a roach would make most people uncomfortable at first. I wonder if his mentality will be a bit less human.
