I believe Maiko-san Chi no Makanai-san also had a scene where the young kids drank coffee. It's a little surprising to me too. I wonder if it's a cultural thing.

The TL note is interesting as always! I feel like I'm used to seeing hiyashi chuuka (or hiyashi ramen) on English menus, personally. So when I think of cold ramen, I think ramen in cold soup. Like yuzu shio stuff. But I do live in Vancouver which is a pretty asian city.

It's niche in English but surprisingly popular in Asia. Hell, I live in Canada and I saw Shinya Shokudou themed instant noodles on sale, but specifically based off the Taiwanese live-action of it. Funny how we get noodles but not the manga.
