We don't actually know what happened with the person that ended up in the hospital. It's easy to say 'just stand above it' but depending on the circumstances there might be real danger associated with it

I'd probably start questioning why they felt like they had to hide this stuff from me. Either it was something in my behavior, a communication mishap or an assumption on their side. If it's one of the later two it can probably be resolved fairly quickly but the first one is tricky to solve.
