Yeah, here in Germany we also have teams and even tournaments for beam rifles (lichtschießen), though it's not very popular. Also in previous chapters it was an trope to mention how unpopular it is in Nippon too and that air rifles are way more common.
I was pretty bummed about the final episode of the anime, so I hope the Mangaka will do a better job with his manga.
But so far there's only 23 from 170 chapters translated and we won't get to that point within the next months.
