I understand the concern with most companies, but J-Novel provides DRM-free downloads of any LN or manga you purchase on their website. They can’t do anything to ever take a DRM-free volume you’ve downloaded from you- it’s essentially equivalent to owning a physical volume in terms of safety.

@Ceiye Currently, they've disabled adding new series or adding new chapters to existing series in that format, but for now, existing series can still be viewed on the site. Haruhara has mentioned on his blog posts that it costs a lot of money to host and they may take it down entirely sometime...
